Are u on mac by any chance? Macs got the whole retina thing. There is a full screen button which should fix it, but unfortunately itch hides it on the bottom right of the game screen, so you need to scroll to find it. Should I just make it full screen only?

Also there is a countdown timer under each space ship. Different space ships may have different times till they die, so there wasn't really a point to having a dedicated one to the player. Although for polish I might later add a big translucent countdown center screen that only pops up when you have 10s left.

Also yes i seriously regret programming the ability to turn into the red baron. It wasn't originally like that, but i thought it would be cool to "steal the title" kind of. Probably should have swapped it back.

I'm not on mac, it's chrome on windows. Did you change page display settings? Yesterday it was strethced full width, and I couldn't find fullscreen button. Today it's in a box and fullscreen button is there, much better! I didn't understand ship timers at first, everything moves fast, I thought it was ship's health or something (seems logical: it goes to 0 - ship dies). Turning red baron is nice, but you need to see yourself in this state. It would be perfect if player was a completely different ship, then it can turn red and still be different.

I shrunk the size down by 50% in itch’s settings.  I think monitors that are smaller res don’t do well with a larger size.

There’s still some weirdness where if u start playing, then switch to full screen the ships tend to stay in the top left, since I guess the physical play area doesn’t scale with the window but whatever.

I think I’ll have to get the timer to display times in a 1:54 format instead of a 1M54S format because with the space themed font it’s hard to realize what it’s saying with that stupid S at the end.

I don’t really want the ship to be a different model since technically the other ships are still you, just you from the past, but it definitely needs a more obvious indication. Maybe something like a time trial ghost racer shader.

Wait, these ships are me from the past? That changes everything! Now I understand what you meant with "stray bullets make it worse". That's a very cool mechanic, but not understandable from gameplay, that's how chaotic and unexplained it is. Reading through other comments, it seems like other players also didn't get it, sadly. For now you could explain it on top of your game page description (and under "how your game fits the theme" as well) so jammers get it, and after jam you can update game to clarify it better. Idea is cool, you're very creative!
