You really integrated the step countdown mechanic into every aspect of the game, that's so cool! It's super impressive that you managed to build both a full dungeon crawler and a turn-based battle system.

During my playthrough, I found that it was actually more worthwhile to spend my steps navigating around the enemies instead of fighting them, since combat usually spent steps much more quickly. I did end up getting stuck on floor one already, I defeated all the enemies on the first floor and found a key part, but I couldn't quite figure out how to open the "x2" door and unfortunately ran out of steps there.

Though, I really enjoyed my time with it. Great job

Thank you for playing and the kind words, im glad you liked it 🫶

Yes it was intended that the player should avoid enemies usually, but what I messed up is the enemies and how they patrol, their density, etc...
And for the x2, im really sorry this was a scrapped idea but I forgot to remove this specific door. It was supposed to open when having double digits in the count down, but at the time I only used odd numbers for doors/tiles. So now the x2 door only opens when there is double odd numbers, which is a terrible idea and unintuitive, I apologize if it discouraged you 😣
