It took me awhile to figure out the rules, but, once I did, I had a blast! It's a good puzzle (esp. with the cards to mix things up) and its satisfying filling up the board. I really do wish the gems were at least always sorted numerically. There were a lot of times I typed the value of the gem instead of the slot it was in, leading to a wrong placement and game over. Even with that those, this was fun!

I think there is a couple variants that may be cool to implement to avoid problem that you mentioned:
- sort numerically (but it makes 8-directional card that always blocks the last slot a lot worse)
- value assigned to the button instead of the slot as 9 is maximum number
- add rewind button (just now thought of it).
if i come back to this game, i'll definetly implement some of those.
