I’m glad you enjoyed the game!
For the last level, there are two beasts, that’s why it didn’t send you to the end screen. The monster slayer talks about how there were rumors of a second beast in that town, but another reminder, especially after you kill the first monster, would have been a good addition.
Also, surrounding vs adjacent was something we should have clarified. Playtesters also found it confusing. It was one of the things that slipped through the cracks. I hope the confusion didn’t cause too large of a problem.
