I was pretty confused on how to play. I get that I'm supposed to siphon fuel from the cars & gas stations and take it back to my base before nightfall so I can power my generator. But I keep randomly getting attacked by monsters in the middle of the day? And I'm not sure what the point of the shotgun is if I'm never able to see the monster before I'm attacked.
The atmosphere is very cool, though!

I see how that can be confusing, the problem is probably that you played without headphones, because the 3d sound is VERY important to detect enemies and where they are, and not only that, you can also hear their "alertness level", and if they get too angry you should stay quiet until they calm down. Thats definetly my bad for not making that more obvious, so your criticism is totaly valid!
