This was a fantastic read! I thought the use of music and sounds did an excellent job making the atmosphere immersive and engrossing and I think you leveraged having the VN in novel mode to its utmost (the photos displayed alongside the text was pretty brilliant!) . The story had a paranoid edge to it that floated, understated, beneath the kind of hollow, solitary atmosphere out in the forest, leading to a narrative that was jittery in spurts and somewhat anxiety-inducing throughout. Diana and Constance are both great characters; I felt that the way Diana's thoughts moved was very cool, kind of weaving in and out of the persona she's affected since being put on sabbatical and a deeper, more twisted and somewhat broken psyche that informs why her career was what it was.

Echoing another comment, I've found that I really do seem to enjoy bureau fiction. Something about it allows for room for imagination about a sort of vicious modernity and sterility that interplays well with doing work it's best not to think about. This story I think satisfactorily explored something with an edge of believability to it that cut to my core and exposed a quiet fear of mine that rarely announces itself. On the whole, I think this was a killer jam entry that I sincerely enjoyed reading. Thank you for making it.

thanks so much for your thoughts - i'm glad you enjoyed it! diana was fun to write, i tried to balance her horribleness by making her thoughts entertaining.
