I like Love2D a lot so I would recommend it if you're interested, I learnt it by following a tutorial online called "Game Programming Basics in Lua and Love2D" by Brook Miles and also if you own Balatro you can change balatro.exe to balatro.zip and then open it and look at all the source code which is quite useful for seeing what a proper, big Love2D game looks like.

I've considered doing something like that, with dissecting a proper game. I don't own balatro but I've been considering getting it for a while. And I might get it also for that purpose. Thank you for the tip :)
