peak game

like you said, a bit buggy, but the idea is there and it's super clever! Excited to see what you cook up with patching the bugginess and improving this game.

I was terrified when the timer went out and I was put in that frickin maze. I was sure some horrific monster was gonna appear on my screen but I got the not great escape ending where I just kinda dipped. The narrative was peak. 5/5 all 🔥

pretty fun an neat mechanic tying in the countdown theme. congrats on finishing your first game!

the scope for this game was greatly decreased as we created it, mainly because this was my first game jam game and full coding experience with a deadline. We originally had plans for different bosses to occur at different times, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00, while the in game hours in between was time to prepare. OBVIOUSLY you can tell that that goal was a *bit* too ambitious. I might work on it in the future, but for now, it is what it is and I'm proud of it as a first game jam game.

pretty cool. I like the little spider sprite and the swing mechanic is very fluid. It got pretty frustrating at times but really satisfying once you got past a hard part of the level.

Super fun game. It's clever to just make one level full of secrets that the player has to learn as they go on, rather than having to make multiple levels of this. Though it's the same level being played each time, it takes on a completely new dynamic and way to run through it. The first way I beat this game was cheesing it at the start, which i thought was funny, and then I beat it ligit with 0 seconds remaining. I also like how this game is actually challenging, even when you know it all, so it's fun for a speedrun enthusiast like myself. Also the art and music are 🔥🔥. Adding to my "GEMS" itch.io collection 💯

Very fun and overstimulating when I had to start doing the tasks simultaneously, when i would get the rythm for the racing one and do it while doing whatever else pops up, like the simon one. Simon completely screwed me over when there were like 3 of them at once. And it was really funny when more and more and more tasks just kept piling filling my screen. Adding to "gems" collection 🔥

Tufff

I've considered doing something like that, with dissecting a proper game. I don't own balatro but I've been considering getting it for a while. And I might get it also for that purpose. Thank you for the tip :)

Impressively polished for a game jam game! I first thought I didn't need the how to play thing, and went in blind only using left click. It was alright, but once I actually read the how to play I realized a whole new dynamic existed. First off, that how to screen is super clever, the way the mouse buttons have arrows into where the put the coin. That how-to screen shows how to play the game much better than words can, and I love the little skull for if the timer completes a full cycle. High cortisol ahh game. Putting on my 'gems' itch.io playlist and definitely coming back to this one!

super fun and intense. The slider was a little jank but that only added to the intense nature of this game, having me screaming "COME ON WORK ALREADY" when it got stuck, which honestly just added to the experience. I'm definitely adding this to my 'gems' itch collection and coming back to this 🔥.

I love the goofy vibes. I love how the credits was a cup of coffee. The coffee sound was reminded me of the bloxy cola, which was funny, and I love the messy artwork. adding to my gems itch collection and PLEASE make more levels after the jam

got hella confused but woody falling to the ground with the maniac laughter is peak.

I loved teaching the dog how to code so much. And I had a good laugh when he got a job in programming and offered me some money. 5/5 full rating 🔥🔥🔥. I made a little itch.io collection called "GEMS" of games I find in this game jam that I view as absolute gems, and this belongs there, so congrats 💯💯. (ps, love2d is a tuff framework , I tried learning it a while ago as my first thing I make games with that I commit to, but I've been on and off with engines/frameworks forever trying to learn to code. I'm using pygame rn, and used it to make my first real game(that I submitted to this jam) but i definitely wanna try love2d more once I get more experienced with general programming stuff🔥)

The tips at the death screens helped a lot. I kept losing at the start and built a strategy after seeing them. And I was so focused with it it was extremely fun after getting the hang of it. Peak overstimulation with remembering to clear my viruses and spin the fan and stuff. And the mom calls/texts were really funny. Another one of my favorites and easily going on my gems itch.io collection.

so frickin fun and addicting. I saw the "ready to lose some quarters?" and I kept that in mind playing. Assuming I spend one quarter per play, I've spent 8 dollars on this game if it was really in an arcade. 32 plays. My best was my 31st attempt at 5778. I played the first couple with my keyboard, and then realized the potential with controller. I whipped my controller out and DAAAAAYYYUUMMM it got fun. Now I'm super inspired to cook something up with controller controls. Definitely one of my favorites this jam!

Very satisfying shooting. I was absolutely vibing to the music while sniping every goose in sight. I like the way the main goose boss's shadow appears at the start. It was very cozy in the house, and chill to play the game. My only thing is that I wish the boss was a little more difficult. 9.5 out of 10 fun ahh game!

fun game. It was fun to experiment with different paths until I found my way, and I like the risk of lighting up much more of the area and moving faster by making your timer deplete faster. Dynamite fuse giving light but also counting to your death is a super creative concept! I agree with the other guy that the little dude's victory animation is peak.

Password game vibes. I really like the overall spacey vibe. Neat game 🔥🔥🔥

I love games like this with a goofy vibe and simple story. You're a frog and you're hungry. Also clever name and tagline.

I almost made it harder because I play-tested it so much that it became easy for me. I agree that the intro cutscene is a work of art. Thank you my glorious king(maker of the hit new game Down On Your Luck)

(1 edit)

This has high rage game potential(in a good way).

exactly. When I realized I was at minimum luck, I lost every time thinking that it wouldn't let me win at all. Then I won twice in a row and got pissed. LIGHTNING SOUND

The story was really funny and it's a fun twist to make winning bad. The story was my favorite part and I was jamming to that bass the whole time I was playing.

PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

This game pissed me off in a good way. I loved the texts and the debug mode at the end that had my frames dropping.

Fire ahh game. I love the music and the artwork and the level variety 🔥. The goofy pixel guy is so tuff

I was looking through the android compatible games submitted to this jam to just chill and play on my phone. This was the first one I tried and this is absolute PEEEAAAKKK. I love the chill, goofy style of the 3d pixel art guy. And I was shocked with the different levels, thinking all of them would be like the first level. 🔥
