Really fascinating concept, but as everyone's already pointed out, the only consistent strategy is having a ton of defense or HP and just lowering enemy damage. My winning run I never got lucky enough to get shops and just got 50 rests so I tanked all the damage and whittled everyone's Damage down to 0. It was also difficult to understand the negative mechanic at first but once it clicked I really liked it.

It's also kinda sad the game doesn't seem to support more than 3 negative points since I got one off a random event and it didn't do anything. It worked in the overworld but not the battle scene, funny enough.

Still, I had a ton of fun! Definitely worth polishing up a ton more, it has a lot of potential.

Thank you for playing the game and for giving the feedback!

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to work on that for the deadline, but since time is no longer a problem, all the issues regarding balance and lack of clarity when it comes to gameplay will be addressed with the next update/updates.

As for the more than 3 negative points situation, that's a bug as I've included the upgrade node in the random event by mistake (I've thought about having more than 3, but it seemed like it'd be too OP unless there was more than one map the player would progress through; so it might be a thing at some point!). Very glad that you seemingly didn't try to fight 6+ enemies (made possible by the extra upgrades) once you had the points, as it would've bricked the game XDDD

Oh that's funny actually. I didn't bother fighting 6 enemies because I was like "yeah if I try that i'll die." Turns out I would've died because it would've softlocked, LMAO.

Yeah! That would've been brutal, so I'm glad you didn't get to experience it XDD
