I pressed any key to join, the character profile got a green checkmark, then I couldn't figure out how to proceed
Thanks for the feedback! 😊 This is a local multiplayer game, so you'll need a second player to join (using another controller) before the game can start. It sounds like we didn't make that clear enough 😅
