I really enjoyed Dominion of Darkness. What stood out to me most is how much depth there is behind the initial premise. Playing as the Dark Lord is a great concept on its own, but the game actually builds its mechanics around it instead of using it simply as a different perspective on a typical fantasy story.

The worldbuilding is probably one of its strongest aspects. There’s a lot of lore, different peoples, characters and history behind the setting, and it gives the feeling that there’s much more to discover beyond a single playthrough. I also really liked the visual style – the illustrations complement the dark fantasy atmosphere very well and give the game a strong identity.

The RPG side is surprisingly elaborate too. Character development, magic, agents and commanders, armies, intrigue and different ways of approaching your goals make your choices feel meaningful. I especially liked that the game gives you several ways to behave like a Dark Lord rather than reducing everything to simply choosing the “evil” dialogue option.

There’s clearly a huge amount of work behind this project, and the combination of interactive fiction, RPG and strategy works really well. It’s also impressive how much has been built on top of Twine.

Great work! I’m curious to see how Dominion of Darkness continues to develop.

Thank You very much for playing and such thorough feedback!
