Great game just hard to figure out what to do still don't know what to do but looks good.

If I'd personally had the time, I would have tried to highlight the issue you pointed out.
Otherwise, here's what you need to do:
1. Click and stay the mouse button on region for, to avoid the doomsday
2. Find the code for the commands needed to reset the countdown
3. Reset it
and start over to finish the game.
