Honestly, the glitches are pretty funny. It also helped that the music complimented the goofiness of those glitches XD. I would love to see you incorporate those gliches into the game to make it extra goofy - I really loved that aspect of the game. Here's what I thought about the game:

Creativity:

Moving around with a timer changing the stage was really cool - I think it could introduce a lot of unique mechanics not many people have seen before. With this type of mechanic, you can definitely innovate on so many things - some things I've just thought about are maybe gates that open at a specific number like 3, or a wall that blocks you when you move around. I would love to see more expansions on the types of walls you have to navigate across the levels!

Enjoyment:

Even though the game had glitches, I still had a good laugh learning to navigate it because from what I can see, this game is not supposed to be taken seriously, so I think you can definitely lean more into that aspect. I think if you add more goofy movement options, or ways to navigate the level (a cloud that slows you down when you step in it or makes fart noises or something like that) could really add to the charm to this game. This game is really charming and I think you could definitely expand on that for sure.

Narrative:

Maybe he's trying to climb to the top of the tower to be the very best like no one ever was, or learn how clocks work by navigating through them. Either way, I think you can add a lot to the story of the game, especially if it revolves around clocks, or maybe even the passage of time. That might be cool! Like a time traveling story!

Artwork:

I love that you added a clock in the background of the game - it definitely adds to the overall theme to clocks ticking down in this case! The character was also really cute too - maybe he could be like a gear that is part of the clock. I think what would also be really cool is if you incorporated some of the map walls into the background. For example, if you have a wall that moves out from the circle, you could have it be in the form of a black arrow that is enmeshed with the background, making it feel more immersive with the game. That might be worth checking out if you're interested.

Audio:

I thought the timer was really goofy and silly in a good way - I loved how you were able to have some sound effects for when the map moved to - I thought that was really cool also. Maybe you could also have a sound effect for when you die too - like a machine cog that is stuck in a machine or a fart noise (lol) if you want to still use the theme of silliness.

Great jam entry! I know you may or may not want it to be silly, but I had a good time with it anyway! Good luck with the voting!

Thanks for the review :) I really like the idea of gates that open at certain times. The only thing is, given the way the level is coded - each level is a separate image in one sprite so it's difficult to add things... definitely possible though! It may get updated in future if more people like it :D

Maybe you can make the sprite bigger to compensate? Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed my review! Good luck with the rest of the jam - you did a great job! :D
