This is a really cute & fun little game! I love the framing of it - having to make money for taxes is a natural way to add some stakes and encourage good picture-taking. (Plus, it comes with an excellent cutscene.) The hand-drawn graphics are nice, as is the silly music!

The gameplay is also cool. From the description, I thought it would be one single gameplay loop, but it ended up being a bunch of little scenarios that are all totally different. The variety of playstyles and super-short length per level reminds me a lot of WarioWare. All of them were goofy in a fun way too - that goat kept running away with the money! - and I liked how intelligently they were scored, with superpositions and the like.

Some of the games seemed hard to do within the time limit (specifically that Where’s Waldo-style one), but you get better at them with time - and some like the puzzle even keep your progress between attempts, which is nice. The game could definitely do with a few more minigames, since there aren’t many right now, but that’s understandable during a jam. If I were you, I would definitely expand this post-jam! I could see it working well on mobile as well as PC.

By the way, shoutouts to Élise! Great use of foley for the SFX. And some fun voice acting :)

Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot 💚 I guess you got an amazing coincidence on the puzzle game, because if I'm not mistaken the base placement is fully random!

I'm quite happy seeing people ask for a post-jam version! I don't know yet if we will do it as we had some more ideas but sadly didn't have time to implement them to have more polished mini-games. We thought of mobile at the very end and it's currently unplayable, but it probably isn't a big difficulty to adapt the game for those given the controls 😄

That’s a funny coincidence! I got 3-4 pieces in place the first time and they all seemed to still be there when I got it again. Guess I was just extremely lucky?

I guess so 😁

Hey, thanks for your comment! Really appreciate the time and effort you put into this. I'm not sure there's more to say than what Sylber already said or what has been discussed with other commentors (some discussions go pretty deep into the reasons behind our choices for Say Cheese! and could interest you if you want to read more about our game) but I still wanted to thank you in person since you wrote that much for us to read.

First of all, I guess, is that the money is grabbed by a donkey and not a goat.

Second, there is a funny easter egg that I'm not going to explain concerning that same DONKEY.

Third, I'll make sur to keep you posted if we add games or if the game leaves the game jam scope.

And eventually, if you need voice acting, I'll be glad to lend you my daughter for a year of two. I could learn to love the silence and the peace. Wadayathink?

Thanks for all everything!
