If Doom and Crypt of the Necrodancer had a baby, this would be it. I would cut the SMG, though, as it doesn't work that well with the "shoot to the beat" mechanics. Stick to semi-auto weapons and the potential of this one is limitless.

I have to agree with that - the SMG being added was meant to round out the gun sandbox, but given it's fully automatic it doesn't quite work with the rhythm aesthetics and gunplay there. What could maybe make it work is having it be a burst weapon instead - with each shot firing a quarter-beat spray of rounds, with a one-beat rest between? Keeps the feel of spray-and-pray, but the energy of keeping to the beat?
The SMG definitely needs a bit more TLC I think, as the other two weapons shine out the best - but I tried to design each gun to fit into a specific role in the sandbox.
Thank you for playing, and thanks for the high praise! That Doom/CotN energy was something I wanted to push forth, with games like Metal: Hellsinger being inspiration. I'm glad that came through in the final project.
