One finding, filed as an opportunity rather than deficiency: this mechanic is ripe for a combo multiplier. Robbatata has already raised this motion; this office formally seconds it. Size-shifting under a multiplier has an obvious rhythmic pull leaned into fully, this could become a genuinely fine entry in the rhythm genre, and the auditor would like to play that version.
