This sort of thing is why I love this game jam!
The take on "counting down" by applying mathematical operators to a number to get down to 0 is a lovely spin on the theme and I've not seen any other game quite like it so far.
My main critiques because I would love to see this polished a bit more post jam.
1) The story takes ages to get through. I get wanting a thematic setup, but I just wanted to get to the game!
2) I love the control panel being able to fine tune your experience, however it doesn't explain what the rotate/invert/mod operators actually are so I had to figure out what rotate and invert actually did. I would have liked some explanation of that (or maybe make it more of an educational game and tell people what those operators do). I did all the software types (I think) and it didn't move me on so I assume that was the whole game right there?
3) I think the timer levels are a bit of a waste as you can just mash until you get something that is a multiple of a minus number you have and just spam that. Maybe if it was all slowed a bit and instead of timer levels you had to figure out how to do it with only a certain number of uses of each operator? For some cases it was trivial to get to a multiple of 2 or whatever and just spam down and didn't feel like you solved much.
I hope you refine it post jam!
