The reason the duck jumps higher (and can double jump) when it's small is because it's much lighter. When it's medium-sized, it only has a single jump that's a bit lower, and when it's at its largest size, it's much heavier, so the jump is intentionally shorter.
The idea behind this was to encourage players to shrink the duck before jumping, then grow it back in mid-air. Since the larger duck is heavier, it falls faster, adding another layer to the gameplay.
That said, I'll definitely think more about the situation you mentioned. I don't want players to end up in unavoidable scenarios where there's simply no way to react. Thanks again for pointing that out and for taking the time to share your thoughts!
