I had considered very early on a relationship where they they meet when the kolnik is a hyuzefian, the kolnik had their partner die back on the planet and needed someone they bond with to share egg caring, then they go to kolnik and get it on as kolniks from a more scientific lens (they are hermaphroditic each with a cloaca and passing the egg back and forth from the other is very sexual for them). But I nixed that idea as, well, its not my kink and as romantic as it could be, the way I was considering it, I wouldn't find it sexy haha.
