Very fucking cool, atmosphere was spot-on, the conceit of the story was fascinating, and the character writing — who they were, what they felt, how they behaved and interacted with one another — well-executed.
As a sucker for "bureau fiction" (surely there's a term for it, I just don't know it), a PTSD-haver always down to read about psychology, therapy, what we can and can't do with the brain, and someone fond of (though not native to) the area, this was obviously going to be right up my alley. But even if it wasn't, it still would have been worth every minute. Very well done!
