I finished the demo, and here are my thoughts.

Sometimes, character sprites are sized inconsistently. If they’re going to be in different places in the screen, why not have the sprites be drawn in full rather than just the portraits? Dialogue menus with only one choice are fine every now and then, but they keep showing up here and feel unnecessary.

I understand this is supposed to be a somewhat humorous mystery visual novel, but I can’t help but think there’s tonal whiplash between the serious and funny moments. Someone died horribly, but then, then the two detectives have lighthearted banter about the topic of your choosing on their way to the crime scene. The multiple fourth wall breaks don’t feel warranted either, but if you had to include one, I’d make it more subtle and cut back on the rest. In my opinion, there’s a time and place for the characters to make japes and lulz, but during a serious assignment? No. At most, Stacey, the sarcastic one, would probably make a dark humor remark once.

I also think the game needs to stand up on its own more than relying on so many references for the audience to point at. And the more that I progressed, the stronger my aforementioned feelings grew.

All is not bad, though. The game surprised me a few times. Stacey is obviously the best character, probably because she’s the most grounded.

In short, this has a long way to go, but I wish you luck.

ok thank you, feedback on if its good or bad, i just wanted to try my hand at this, and its only funny to me, ill pass on this idea and try something else, maybe ill return to it and change it up,  esp with the sprite size ( its always been a issue, ill at some point fix it)

but legit thank you for even taking time to play and giving me feedback

this game was just a silly idea i had, and it just didnt work the way i felt it would.

I don't necessarily want to discourage you from continuing it. Heck, I feel discouraged at times about my own stuff when there's not enough attention, or things don't pan out. Criticism can help you improve, but it depends on how you want to take it, though. After all, writing is a hard art many people have to hone consistently.

its ok, nd yes it can help me improve and possibly will, with other projects i have other ideas , this was just " i have a wild idea for a comedy murder mysery " no harm done and i thank you  for taking the time to even download this and try it let alone give a review.  Maybe ill return to it at a later date. I have other ideas for games that i hope will be better. And again thank you for giving any type of feedback.
