It's a pretty simple process, don't worry! You just need a ttf file and drag it in somewhere under the Theme Override section on a label object iirc. I usually check fontlibrary.org or fonts.google.com to find suitable fonts with proper licensing, but as for your particular use case, I think something calm and sans-serifed / handwriting-adjacent might work quite well.
