That's definitely an area that still needs more testing and balancing on my side. You can earn XP by purchasing more upgrades or completing achievements in the game. You can check the Achievements section by clicking the trophy icon on the left side of the screen. I'll also work on making this progression clearer in a future update.

Please let me know if there are no upgrades left to purchase and you've already completed all the achievements possible. If that's the case, then it's a progression issue on my end that I'll need to test and fix for the next update. Based on my own testing, though, you should have enough XP to reach Level 5.

I just released a small update that should fix the Level 4 progression issue. If you get a chance to try it again, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know whether you're still experiencing either of those issues.
