There is the original game (the first choice) which has a lot of Let’s Plays on YouTube.

And there is the Advanced version (the second choice) which has additional content and modifications. One of those modifications is that you will find that short sword in a different location in the cellar. However there is also the modification, that a dagger has a bonus to the attack skill, which means it hits more often (which is really useful in the beginning).

You can see many of the modifications here: https://github.com/Pyrdacor/Ambermoon-Advanced/blob/main/Changes.md

Thank you for your time. I was confused by the version number. I thought that 1.33 meant that it was the last update. It did not occurred to me that it could be a different "boosted remix" of the game. I am so happy that the game runs perfectly on Linux. This is my first CRPG ever. It is a verrrrry good game, very relaxing and not frustrating (even if it is extremely difficult to me and so cool that we can save and load anywhere anytime). Thank you again for all this great work.

My pleasure. Yes, saving and loading will be very important. Save often and use multiple slots. ;)

Well the versions can be a bit confusing. The original game has its own versioning which reaches far back in time.

Be aware that the Advanced version will receive major content updates later. It is an extension I do on my own in my free time and it is a tremendous amount of work. Therefore I add content as episodes. Right now there are 3 finished episodes, hence the version 1.3x. I am working on the 4th episode right now, which will have version 1.4x. But it will only add content to the late game, so feel free to play. You still can finish the game without the new content of course.
