I absolutely loved this! I'd really like to see more RPGs inspired by African mythology and folklore. We have so many games rooted in European settings, and I think there's so much richness to discover elsewhere. Reading your game reminded me of a friend of mine, who sadly passed away earlier this year, whose dream was to create games inspired by African cultures and myths.

I really enjoyed the three-token mechanic. Having the protagonist fully narrate the outcome with three matching tokens, or share the narration with the Mask when they're mixed, is a clever idea. I wasn't familiar with Mancala before reading your game, but now I'm curious to learn more.

I also love the mask illustrations! Did you create them yourself? They almost make me want to print them and color them. 😊

The whole game feels like a folktale told around a campfire, with rhythm becoming part of both the storytelling and the tension. I don't speak Italian very well, so I used AI to help me understand the rules before writing this feedback in English. Are you planning to translate the game into other languages? I'd love to see more people discover it.

Have you had the chance to playtest it yet? I'd love to hear how it felt around the table.

Hi!

Thank you for the compliments and your kind words.😊

But above all for sharing your personal memory. Thanks again.

Due to time constraints, I had to use AI for the illustrations: I had the mask designs created, specifying that they be drawn as if they were drawings for children to color. :-D

Yes, I've thought about offering the game in another language or two.

As soon as I have more time, I'll try it.

No, I haven't tested the game at a table yet. I'll try it as soon as possible with some friends and let you know if I do, okay? ;-)

I'm quite curious about the prompt you use. Don't forget to explain the use of AI in the game for generating masks. Didn't see credits, inspirations or license also. ;)

Gemini, with the NanoBanana feature.

The use of AI is specified by clicking "More."

The credits and license are specified in the game text on page 3 (they are brief due to the 1.100 word limit).

The sources of inspiration were African tales, the game of Mancala, and "pieces" from some TTRPGs (both from The Forge's manifesto and from my own writing in the past).

;-)
