That's been done intentionally. I've an update to publish which does a lot more with the food, but the pastures were intended to be temporary rather than create permanent husbandry's, as a way of rotating pastures and naturally recovering them when using my Pasture Welfare mod. You wouldn't be producing any wool or milk whilst the animals are in them.
