i want to preface this by saying i am definitely very much the wrong audience for this game, so take what im saying with many grains of salt!! i dont think the game is bad by any means, its just not for me. please dont take what im saying too harshly i just nitpick a lot
tldr: it looked nice, but a toggle for the filter would have been appreciated, lack of audio/visual feedback for ui and battle elements made the ui kind of confusing, and it felt like there were too many enemy encounters. overall quite impressive for a game jam entry though!

i liked the visual style overall, but it started to get kind of grating after a while; an option to disable the filter would have been nice. the text was kind of hard to read at times, but i managed. the kind of hard to read text combined with the lack of audio or much visual feedback with everything caused me to kind of just mash through battle text and spam attack. text getting "typed" for lack of a better term instead of just appearing all at once and some audio feedback for my inputs would have been nice. the ui sometimes seemed to break? for example in the last battle i was trying to cast heal, but the game wasnt letting me move in the "cast" menu or even use/inspect any spell. there was another time when i was trying to inspect my items, but i had to close the menu and reopen it to continue searching around. the number of enemy encounters started to get really annoying, i ended up not even wanting to try exploring anymore because i'd sometimes run into an enemy on almost every single tile. overall i think it needs some polish and then it could definitely garner its own audience if it was continued
