The whole thing felt so anxious. If painful or uncomfortable things are never even approached or discussed, people can't learn how to deal with or think about those topics in a healthy way. My friend has a quote they often say that some art is made to "comfort the disturbed, and disturb the comforted," and that's something I find myself agreeing with more and more lately.
