I was really excited to give it a try but it doesn't seem to work with AMD graphics cards (I have AMD RX 7900 xtx 24gb) if I'm understanding the comments correctly. It stopped working for me after showing the logos in the beginning regardless of how I tried to start it up. I would LOVE to give this a go, so I'll come back for a look if we can ever play it on AMD graphics cards. A+++ for creativity though and from what I see in screen shots it looks gorgeous.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your kind words and for giving it a try. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work on an AMD, my suspicion is it's to do with the Gaussian Splatting technology that requires RTX. Are you able to load the front end and see the text and just a black background?
I'll have a chat with the coder and also look into the requirements that the Unreal Plugin needed to see if that's the root cause.
Thanks for taking the time to try.
Peter
I've looked into the issue more and it appears that the Gaussian Splat plugin we used is only supported on RTX Nvidia cards, really sorry about that.
However we are working on browser based games too which use the same technology and work pretty much anything, I'm testing out proof of concept browser game on an iPhone 13.
That was my suspicion actually--when I looked into the tech it's unfortunately locked with the NVIDIA graphics cards only. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that browser game though! I've got an enormous soft spot for horror games that integrate reality in new and innovative ways, so I suspect it'll be just up my alley!
And if y'all continue developing off this demo and it's playable on AMD cards I'll certainly be giving it a try.
Yes it's really frustrating but unfortunately out of our hands. We're raising funds now to create out feature film The RackaJack which is a found footage horror based around eight influencers that go deep into English woodland looking for answers surrounding the legend of the Rackajack. If I was to sum up the vibe of the film/game it's I'm a Celebrity meets Predator.
I think Gaussian Splattting is going to be playing a huge part in games in the coming years so hopefully AMD will also fully support it.
