Hello everyone!

You can call me Lay. I'm a Independent Game Designer currently working on an original First-Person Shooter (FPS) intellectual property (IP) in Unreal Engine 5.

After spending several months planning the project, developing the Game Design Document (GDD), analyzing gameplay systems, and investing in a professional development foundation, I came to an important realization: a project of this scale shouldn't be built alone.

That's why I'm looking to build a small team of passionate collaborators to develop the first Alpha version of the game while also creating a strong portfolio that we can proudly showcase as we grow in the game industry.

What is the project?

This is an original First-Person Shooter (FPS) IP.

My goal isn't to recreate existing shooters, but to build a unique identity through original gameplay mechanics, strategic level design, and a clean, scalable technical architecture that can support the project's long-term growth.

The project already includes:

  • A clearly defined design vision.
  • An actively maintained Game Design Document (GDD).
  • A professional Unreal Engine 5 foundation to accelerate development.
  •  Core gameplay systems already implemented and under active development.
  • A long-term development roadmap.

Who am I looking for?

I'm mainly looking for people who want to grow alongside the project and enjoy working as part of a team.

Whether you're a student, a junior developer, or someone with professional experience, what matters most to me is commitment, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in building something we're all proud of.

I'm currently looking for collaborators in areas such as:

  • Gameplay Programming (Blueprints and/or C++)
  • Animation
  • 3D Art / Texturing
  • UI / UX Design
  • Visual Effects (VFX)
  • Audio & Sound Design
  • Quality Assurance (QA) & Testing

If your skills fit another area of game development, I'd still be happy to hear from you.

Transparency from the start

I want to be completely honest to avoid any misunderstandings.

At the moment, this project is self-funded and does not have the budget to offer salaries.

Because of that, collaboration will be based on a Revenue Share (RevShare) model.

If the game is eventually released commercially and generates revenue, profits will be shared among team members according to their contributions and responsibilities. All agreements will be discussed openly and documented in writing before any commercial release.

I completely understand that this model isn't for everyone, and I fully respect those who are only looking for paid opportunities.

Why am I building a team?

Because I realized that time is the most valuable resource in game development.

While one person is implementing gameplay systems, another can be working on level design, animation, art, documentation, or testing. Working in parallel allows us to make meaningful progress while maintaining a high level of quality.

My goal isn't simply to finish a game.

My goal is to build a project that everyone involved can genuinely be proud of—something that showcases our skills and serves as a strong stepping stone for future opportunities in the industry.

Interested?

If this sounds interesting and you'd like to learn more about the project or take a look at the Game Design Document, I'd be happy to chat.

Discord: [layrajuliet] Or feel free to reply directly to this thread.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this

I could do Visual Effects or Sound Design

Hi! Thank you so much for your interest!

For the Visual Effects side of the Alpha, the initial focus will mainly be on weapon and explosion effects. The project already includes a asset with default VFX, so depending on your experience, you could either improve those effects or, if you're just getting started, use them as a learning opportunity to understand how they work while contributing to the project.

The same applies to Sound Design. The initial work will focus on core gameplay sounds such as weapon fire, explosions, reloads, health-related effects, and other essential audio.

If you're interested, feel free to add me on Discord. I'd be happy to tell you more about the project and share the technical design document (GDD) with you.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

i could do audio if wanted

Hello, thank you very much for your interest! The audio section in this game is quite important, both for the alpha and for the general idea. At this time, although we have a pack of assets with default sounds, a second opinion is always good. If you like, write to me on my Discord to talk in detail.

Adding you on discord, I'm pkcamel!

Hello everyone!

Just a small update on the project.

We are now a team of three developers, and we've started organizing the documentation, development workflow, and milestones for our first alpha.

The project is actively progressing, and we're still looking for passionate people who would like to join us on this journey. Whether you're experienced with Unreal Engine 5, 3D Art, Animation, UI/UX, Audio, or Game Design, we'd love to hear from you.

If you have any questions about the project or want to know more before joining, feel free to leave a comment or send me a private message.

Thank you to everyone who has viewed this thread and supported the project. We hope to welcome more teammates soon!

Hello! I’m from Louluo translation, we’re a simplified Chinese translation team. You probably don’t need localization at this stage, but Chinese players now make up a large portion of Steam sales, so if you ever need to localize your game into Chinese, my team would love to help! If you’re ever interested, feel free to send an email at louluolocalization@gmail.com and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

Hello everyone.

For now, this will be the last recruitment announcement I'll be posting until I share the next project update.

I know many people hesitate to join projects like this, whether due to uncertainty about income or a lack of professional experience. I completely understand. That's why this message is especially for those who want to take their first steps in game development and be part of a real project.

This project is open to people who genuinely want to learn, improve their skills, and build a portfolio while working as part of a team. More than experience, I value commitment, responsibility, and a desire to keep learning.

We are currently looking for:

* Gameplay Programmer (Blueprints/C++)

* 3D Artist

* Animator

* Sound Designer

* Visual Effects (VFX) Artist

* UI/UX Designer

If you're interested in Unreal Engine, want to gain real-world experience in game development, and can commit to the team, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to view the project and read the posts. I sincerely appreciate your time and interest.

Hi! I’m really interested in collaborating. I have prior programming experience and am currently diving into Unreal Engine 5 (learning Blueprints and C++). I’d love to see how I can help the team, so I'll add you on Discord! (mine is "kostasfrag.")
