Hi everyone,
First, I want to acknowledge something: I know that asking artists to contribute to a project for free can be frustrating or even feel disrespectful. Art takes time and effort, and I completely understand that.
Because of that, I'm not looking for a professional artist willing to illustrate an entire game for free. I don't currently have a budget, and I'm mainly looking for a beginner, amateur artist, or someone who would simply enjoy experimenting and seeing their work inside a real game project.
Even just one or two pieces of artwork would already mean a lot. It could be:
- a background
- a character portrait
- a small illustration
- or anything you'd personally enjoy drawing
The amount of work would completely depend on what you're comfortable doing.
I'm currently developing Trust Me, a psychological horror visual novel built in Ren'Py. The story is finished and the game already has a fully playable prototype available on itch.io.
The current visuals were created as temporary assets to prototype the game and establish its atmosphere. I would now love to gradually replace some of these elements with original illustrations and give the project a stronger visual identity.
The atmosphere I'm aiming for is:
- psychological horror
- tension and discomfort rather than gore
- loneliness
- mystery
- subtle unease and ambiguity
The art style is completely open. I'm not expecting professional-quality work, and a unique amateur style could honestly fit the game very well.
If you're a beginner artist looking for a small project to practice on, build a portfolio piece, or simply see your art implemented in a game, feel free to send me a message.
Of course, you would receive full credit for your work.
