Great visuals - reminds me of the old dreamscape rpg maker games.
The main beef I have with the game is that the enemies do not yield any reward for the player, thus there is no incentive to fight them. To be fair to you though you did point out yourself that it is better to run. (But then we miss out on these amazing monster designs!!)
It's short but to the point and I did like the minimalist lore drop. Don't let story get in the way of a good game. Nice work overall.
