I like the art, the story isn't bad by itself. But the way the choice offers made, i think it is a trap for any novel game developer. When as a player i start to choose how environment should change instead of how the main character should react on it, the story begin getting boring and start to annoy.  I didn't even had enough patience to finish that novel. Bad made choices just ruins the whole experience. With the same result main character might be thrown out from the story, cause the choice offers made him unnecessary for the story.

Eh, I have to disagree, I mean you’re naturally free to dislike my game, but as a player myself, that’s what I enjoy in VNs as a genre the most, the options that let me affect the world via my choices, not just my reaction to it, but I get why it might not be your cuppa!

Player should interact with the game world through the character, and character actions should affect the world changes. That is the whole point of main character. MC is important link between audience and story. If player forced to interact directly avoiding the main character, it instantly makes player missing motivation to do choices (players are common people and have different morale, and they may have completely different points of view on game story) and make him loose any empathy to MC (cause MC no more important for the story developing, and player stop associate himself with mc.).

You’re entitled to your opinion, and if you like to follow your ‘shoulds’ then you can consider making your own game, that way it’ll be 100% suited to your personal preferences. Cheers!
