hard-hitting intro aside, reading through each chapter felt like a perfect snapshot into the hell that is 2010s-2020s america. #giveelsaagirlfriend, late-night talks about gendered socialization expectations (that one reminded me of some uncomfortable social encounters i had), how every act of ours is recorded, connected to someone else's suffering. the exhaustion and cynicism that comes with witnessing said suffering on a daily basis.
