I think people who assume smth like this are actually racists, but want to appear as fair ones. I don't like Zeke because of his motivations, lies, and ulterior motives. But they see only "black man" as if black people aren't more than just color of their skin. It's much easier for them to say "you're a racist" than to think a bit more.
