Feedback/Critique:
- First things first: The ‘I’m stuck’ mechanic fired off a bit too often. It probably would have been better to allow the user to restart the level on their own rather than restart it. In addition, restarting the level didn’t always restore Ned to his original state, causing some weirdness with puzzles.
- Graphics/UI/UX: Not terrible, but not 100% polished. The aesthetic worked, but consider polishing up the gameplay with transitions / tweening rather than hard cuts to the loading screen. A UI menu system would have been nice, especially for allowing the player to have a restart game option.
- Music/Sound: I would have liked to have control of the music - it was a bit loud for my tastes, and it would have been good to put a volume slider in to control it. Also, consider adding sound, like for when the can reaches the flower - maybe a delay between transitions where a sound plays so that the player knows “Hey! I reached my goal!” Before transitioning to the next level.
The concept is a good one - I enjoyed puzzling out which way to flip Ned. I think this game has good bones. Well done for one week’s worth of work!
