Send me an email, lol.

supaa kawaii!!!!

Well done. :-)

I should probably follow this up - I have an idea for my game, which will extend the lore of one of my old projects (Project Harvest, see below). I have a pretty specific vision for this, so if you are a game dev that’s excited about your own ideas… probably not the right team up for you, lol. But I am very interested in composers looking to showcase their work along a theme, 3D modelers that want to show their stuff, etc. If this is something you are interested in, please contact me!

I’m looking for any composers, 3D artists, etc that are looking to sign on with me for the Jam. If you are interested, ping me @ jazhikho.forgewalker@gmail.com

I thought that might be the case with the steam, I just wasn’t sure. Nice use of a 2D card then - textbook case, in fact, lol. Still, well done.

Very nice. I like video game horror done well - I may ping you in the future for collab in a game, if that’s something you’d be interested in.

NICE. The loop is awesome, very creative. Kinda wish I could see inside the igloo and solve this murder mystery… 🕵🏽

Very nice! I love the steaming cup and the details that you added to the scene. I wish I could see the blend file; this is really good detail work!

If I had thought about it, I might have tried to put together a tutorial video so that people can follow along - I may do so in the future. I had a few false leads that are evident in the main file (like 3 different tries at the wings before I finally settled on the method I’d use), and some trial and error with the snow. But thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot to me. :-)

Thank you for the kind comments! This was a fun exercise - I normally aim for game jams, but I really enjoy modelling, and am pleased to have produced this for this Jam. Glad you liked it. :-D

What is even happening in this scene?!? 😵‍💫

Nice job, lol.

Have you worked with 3DS, Maya, or other 3D software? For your first time, I am doubly impressed if not, lol.

Very beautiful scene. I would have loved to see the .blend file. 😭 Nice work.

Very nice work! I love the snow particle effects and lighting for the render. Looking at the blender file itself, I’m impressed with the technical skill exhibited despite the apparent simplicity of the scene. One of the best entries I’ve come across so far. :-)

Not bad for running out of time! I like your ice creature render where the ice is evident - very well done. And I think a very creative use of the bonus theme. 🥳

You said in the page that you did this purely in zbrush? As in no external models or programs to get the bust? Either way, kudos - very nice detail, very well done overall.

Good for the render, the actual file has objects not properly seated (the hat, for instance, looks right in the photo, but is floating forward of the snowman, same with the buttons. Could be an artifact of importing the object back into blender though - the reflections present in the image weren’t present in the import. 😭 Also why is the tris so high (again, could just be an artifact of importing into blender).

Still, like the reflection and the “skate writing” - very well done. 😊

Interesting how remarkably similar this house is to some others I found on the net(https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/BV1Kd/stylized-winter-house-3d-print-model).

A very simple render. What I like most about it is the way that the lighting was used to mimic the lights of a small village - I think this is one of the best features. The mountains are well done (Which tool was used to make them? I can think of a couple, curious to see which one specifically, lol). Otherwise, its technically low skill - you can’t see any textures (which aren’t really needed given the night shot), and the shapes are simple (again, not needed, since light/darkness does all the heavy lifting for the render). I think it would make for a great establishing shot for a game / video. My inputs, for what its worth - I would have made a few more details in the village, and zoomed in a bit closer so that we can see these details - I think this would up the technical skill required. But I have to say again - great use of the lighting.

What’s the theme for the Jam?

It wasn’t until after I submitted that I found the theme - yeah, I totally missed that. I could make an argument that the small nature of the game can fit into a box, but that’s me retconning, and doesn’t exactly fit neatly into that tiny box of a theme (har har har). But thank you very much for playing through it.

That’s the right attitude!!!

Thanks for letting me know. I have an idea on how I want to revisit this game, and if so, I think I’ll split it up into several component files instead of one html - I think that will help. Thank you very much for giving my game a chance.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! I will keep the adjustments in mind for when we can edit again. Thank you for playing my game!

I don’t know what happened - it was available, and now it’s not. I have it hosted on github right now for voting purposes, thanks for bringing this to my attention.

The hell. Sometime in the last 24 hours, my game went from available to not. I can’t reupload thanks to the rules of the jam.

You can still access it through my github: https://github.com/Jazhikho/journey/releases/download/0.1a/TheJourney.html

Uh… that’s a bit weird. Is there no install button for you? I am seeing that there have been browser plays, and everything looks fine on my end, but I might have messed something up?

Awesome little game! I normally do Pros first, but since I have so much good to say about the game, cons first:

Cons:

  • The controls are just a little too sensitive for my tastes, and failure is unforgiving. The ‘R’ reset is handy, but it would be better if the player had another way to self recover rather than ‘reset’.

Pros:

  • Fully realized idea with a clear UX in mind
  • Simple, yet addictive - I kept playing again and again trying to land this sucker, despite the difficulty.
  • The graphics and audio are simple, and that’s fine - it all works together
  • I absolutely love the particle system air flow - it’s just a little detail, but it is very nicely done. This shows polish.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you taking the time to play and comment. I’ll check out your game here shortly. :-)

I’ve only made a couple of games to conclusion so far - what I’ve tried to do is leave half the time to polishing. Of course, it didn’t work so hot for this Jam, given that I had no idea what to do on GDevelop before we started. 🤣 If you want to collaborate in the future, send me a message at jazhikho.forgewalker@gmail.com

I think the problem is I tried to play it on Itch. It’s fine on GD games.

I just tried again, same message. The problem isn’t the game, the problem is that I can’t get to the game. :-/ Maybe you accidently put on restriction settings? I don’t see it on your profile or anything.

This was a great game for having only 9 days to put it together. Well worth giving it a try.

Very fun!

Pros:

  • A fairly unique game idea
  • Looks like it’s completely playable
  • Music, mechanics, etc are well done.

Cons:

  • The biggest ding I can give the game is that the sprites only face one way instead of turning to respond to direction of travel.
  • The only other cons I can give are polish - UI hints for when one can interact, for example, or a pause menu with sound settings, etc.

This was well made for the short amount of time that was given to complete the project. Very well done.

The additional heat when changing your answer is on purpose - actually, the bug is that there isn’t MORE heat produced. As far as the risk meter… yeah. 😭 I was trying in vain trying to find out why this wasn’t being updated correctly. But this will be fixed, and I will make it more obvious that the choice you select is doing something. Thanks for your feedback! I have your game on my list to try as well!

I tried to play, but I got this:

Thank you very much for that! I appreciate you taking the time to play and comment. 😊

Thank you for playing and for your feedback!

Pros:

  • The atmosphere is creepy as hell, and the limited range of vision adds to the the horror aspect of the game.
  • Music is simple but effective
  • The visuals at the start of the game made me laugh (won’t spoil it for anyone - just make sure to take a good look around).

Cons:

  • The UX leaves me wondering what’s going on - I can’t figure out what to do! But maybe its because this is still in demo phase.
  • There isn’t a control for the volume or anything else
  • No UI (though this may be intentional)

Its kinda hard to say much about the game at this point - I don’t see that there is very much to do, and I can’t interact with anything. If you can, its not obvious. That said, there is a suitably creepy vibe - I would be interested to see if there is lore here that would help the player start to make sense of the world. I am suitably impressed by the graphics, sound , and concept.

Verdict: This looks like it has potential!

Thank you so much for those kind words! I feel like I might be a pushoever at this point, but the positive feedback I have so far has encouraged me to revisit this after the Jam, lol.

And I will try your game tonight!

Yeah, I ran out of time to go back and clean up answers, the captain dialog, etc, so unfortunately, it is the mess that you saw. 😔

But thank you so much for taking the time to play and comment! I really do appreciate anyone taking a moment to try it, much less give me feedback on it. 🖤
