Question about dice resolutions from the demo: It says that player can use a Tool of Power to add 1d6 to an action roll, but then it says that you use the number of the tool instead of the dice result when you use a Tool of Power.

Is the number of the tool only applicable to the additional 1d6, or to all dice in the roll?

hey there! thanks for the question!!!

i must clarify and expand this: my approach is: if you get the tool number in any of the dice, that counts as a single success, regardless of how many dice show that number.

Example:

you’re rolling under 4 and you got 5 dice total in the pool. the tool chosen is number 2. the roll turns up as 6 4 2 1 1

You got 2 regular hits ( 1 and 1), a hit from your tool (2) and a question (4), to a total of 3 hits and a question.

Was it helpful?

Thank you, this cleared it up. I'm just starting to get my group of TTRPG players who are mainly familiar with the Dragon Game into rules-lite games like these. Once we finish a FIST one-shot, I'll try to convince them to play this game.

I would love to learn how it goes! I am planning to return to this one next to finish it once I’m done with the current piece, I will appreciate the feedback.
