Hey! I apologize I posted on the discord but forgot to update the main page
This weekend, the theme is "new" as in "new to you". I want you to find a production, composition, or playing technique (or new instrument if using a real instrument) and use it in a piece. It can be anything as long as you learn something new and can share with us what you learned! Submit on itch if you'd like but I'll make a thread just after posting this for submission. I don't care if it's an mp3, a youtube link, or whatever. In general though - submitting on the thread on discord tends to work better and facilate better discusison so i highly recommend doing so rather than just on itch. This month, the submission with the most emojis is our winner!! some ideas if you need a starting point: Serialism minimalism unique implementations in middleware generative audio composing using trackers composing in a network like midinous side chain compression vocoders spatial audio delay as a compositional tool rather than an effect sampling and creating your own instrument Beat slicing chromatic mediant harmony microtonality prepared technqiues contact microphones DJ scratching live looping asynchronous loops pinging filters sound collages and whatever else you come across or want to explore!
