very cool. audio is wonderful and visuals too. this game's also a very creative use of the theme.

i do have to say i got stuck in the park after defeating a skeleton and couldn't move anymore.

also i didn't understand the concept of the battles very well, and i ended up insulting everyones' mamas (a classic) as that was the only option that seemed to work every time.

and, as others have noted, it's a bit counter intuitive that if you interact the player has to mandatorily stop for a second even if there is no trash near him. it kind of interrupts the flow of the game.

i also maybe would have made it so that when you are talking to an npc the timer stops, so that you don't feel pressured to skip the dialogues.

i know, however, that these issues were probably only because of how little time you had to work on the game, because overall it feels like a very polished product. congratulations for that!

Hi, these are all really good points. I think you're right, and I should add it so the timer stops. I've heard a couple other people point out that they can't move after a while. Still looking at that. My best guess for now, is the collision layers. I'll also fix the flow of the player as well, that was another concern I heard about. For the battles, you start off with only two of them but picking up paper off the ground makes it so that you unlock other insults. Not the best way to go about that, I'm seeing it now. But some insults do more damage and have multipliers based on the mob and the size of the trash can. With the short amount of time that I had, I couldn't come up with that many insults. But from hearing everyones feedback, I'm gonna go back and really work this game. This is my first game jam so I told myself to take it easy lol.

yeah, i totally understand. it's my first game jam too and i also tried to keep my game as simple as possible.

i obviously don't know anything about your game's code, but maybe you could check if you have some kind of condition that prevents the player from moving when you are inside a fight. like for instance some can_move variable that you set to false when entering combat. i think that could be the problem because at least in my case, the moment i stopped being able to move was right after winning a battle. it was the fourth or fifth battle if i recall correctly.
