Honestly, this game's general direction and gameplay is quite strange to say the least. It obviously tries to market itself as a porn game where you sneak in on yo roomate and use the cam on her. But the thing is is that the gameplay completly goes against that.
First of all, throughout the entire game, the camera mechanic generally serves as a massive blockade to your actual progress. This is mainly because making money this way is absolutely horrendous, and there are many other actions that you can do that yield way more money. Let's not even talk about the wednesday only shipping with the measly points you earn... further complicating an already hard system.
In fact, it's way easier to just ignore the main selling point of the game when progressing. Just go jogging and work at a store, you can do everything this way, you don't even need to film your roommate once (which is an absolute pain early game, and even mid-game, only getting better when you have a gazillion camera upgrades, so you can do things actually substantively but at that point you essentially completed the game.) The main point i'm trying to make is how counter-intuitive this is. Different game mechanics and actions are supposed to help out other mechanics so you can progress in different directions (eg: jogging increases stamina, and with stamina you can film more (this part is correct, but filming is once again useless)) The whole point of having multiple different game mechanics is making them interconnected and dependend on each other in a sense. But filming your roommate (again, the main point of the game) Does absolutely nothing for progression, or other mechanics in general. You don't unlock anything important from it, in fact you actively lose stuff, especially early-game, where you dont even have time and you constantly lose relationship points cuz you can barely get her dressed back, also having to restart a gazillion times cuz she constantly wakes up too, losing your irl time too. (When you have a bunch of supporting upgrades end-game it gets easier, but until then, it's absolutely useless.)
Okay, so to say it clearly, you can only use it for porn, not for actual gameplay, since everything can be done faster and easier on other ways, which is quite interesting, considering how much of the game and story revolves around it.
