i am interested to read this, but somehow it seems to use 100% of my RX 9060 XT which is... very concerning. i know Godot is a more intensive engine than renpy, but most Godot games do not use anywhere near this much of my GPU, and those games are rendering 3D objects and particle effects

Hey there. So, I just wanted to thank you for your answer, feedback like this helps me to find the kinks.

I find it very concerning that you're having 100% usage on a GPU that is 53% better than mine (I have an RTX2070 wiht 8GB VRAM), and for me, the very same version of the game that's available for now, uses less than 13% of GPU. not only had, GPU VRAM usage is also stuck at 800MB which is good.

I also check the game on a very simple laptop I own which is a Lenovo Ideapad, and the game runs fine without any issues nor hicups, and my laptop has no GPU at all. So there's a possibility that maybe the problem is in your end.

I'm not saying it's not my game, I'm saying maybe my game uses something that is making your video Driver go crazy. But as long as I can't reproduce a 100% GPU usage on my end, there's no way I can figure out what is causing the issue. Sadly, the problem is probably on your side, considering I'm using hardware 80% weaker than yours and the game runs smoothly to me.

Thank you so much for your time, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

thank you for replying! after downloading the newest update, it seems to have dropped to ~60-75% GPU usage, but i'll have to look into what is causing this on my end

I hope you can figure it out my friend. I'll be checking on my side and if I can see any other issues I'll fix it and backport them to public builds too. Thank you so much for checking on our project by the way!
