Wonderful polish. I was really enjoying my first run, but then my deck with a relic that says "all dice are scored as red dice" ran into the "red meat tasty" and that was it, I had no chance. I did not experience the "one more game" feeling at all after that. I guess it was mostly eclipsed by feeling cheated, when the most important thing in a run-based game is that failure is my fault.
So I did restart just to check -- can I inspect the boss before I get there? Yes I can. So if I had played a new run I would at least be able to learn this is a huge mistake, and correct by always inspecting the boss and un-equipping any suicidal relic before the boss battle.
So my fault in fact, if not in feeling.
But still, really well-put together game with lots of interesting stuff going on, well done! Was definitely impressed.
