Yes. As far as I remember, that's how it will work. It only doesn't overwrite games you've manually saved. But I'll check to see if there really is a bug there.
Improvements in this direction are to be welcomed. The system is still a work in progress. I am also loaded with work at the moment. Will try to fix it.
