Really cool game! Quality voice acting is an unexpected surprise for a jam game, and it doesn't disappoint. The voice lines are well-written and well-acted, and the little _Oooh!_ moment when I realized who the characters were was very nice.
The combat was cool; I liked that there was a balance between randomness and choice. I did find the interface a little bit confusing at first and ended up accidentally skipping my first turn before I figured out what to do; maybe worth requiring an arrow being connected somewhere before allowing registering the turn? I might have also preferred slightly smaller ranges for the damage numbers, but that's just me. It all also felt really carefully balanced, a fun little dance. That is, until the tentacle, which felt like it was designed to be effectively an insta-kill with that 1-32 attack and no way to heal. But if you were going to keep developing this post-jam, the tentacle feels like a standard early rogue-lite skill gate where you need a couple of deaths/powerups to get past it, if you wanted to go that direction.
I also got a kick out of some of the placeholder menu/tutorial text.
All-in-all, this is a really solid game, and I had fun with it (went through a couple of runs). There are really solid bones here. Kudos to everyone involved!
