Honestly, from the warning given at the beginning, I was sorta expecting a more gritty and gnarly story, but it was more bittersweet than anything! The art is adorable and unfortunately took away a bit of the creepiness of the zombies, but I really liked how kinetic and bouncy the sprites were. Loved the little chibi drawings of the Foreman too.
The implementation of the theme was namedropped, and while the act of telling stories was included within the narrative, I felt like it was tacked on, if that makes any sense. The fable the first El told didn't provide any foreshadowing like I thought it would, but having Kali retell it badly was a good bit.
Honestly, the ending really tied things together for me, so kudos for such a good story.
