would be cool if someone made a Battleship in space
You are supposed to build battleships to tackle harder sectors. Otherwise you won't have enough space to mount colossal combat hardware.

You can extend the hull with any tool(look at hull and click with any tool, do the tutorial for more info), battleship refers to the ship size.
