If you're having a lot of trouble playing on a PC, I recommend using Joiplay(smartphones)! I managed to play Shift 1 and 2 on that emulator, I can't guarantee it will work with Shift 3! I'll test it now and delete my old version of the game.
really? that shouldnt happen, were you using the same account that you downloaded shift 1 and 2 on? if it's different maybe thats why, but if the account and device is the same then im not sure..
