Hi Tess! I found your puzzle very clever, and it tempted me to create my own version of it. I ended up writing it in my own language, Hobby BASIC, and I will be adding it to the official examples very soon. Best regards!

The image you see is from the Windows 11 console using ANSI graphics.

Best regards!

Hello!

I appreciate your interest in my game. Hobby BASIC seems pretty cool. It's impressive you've been working on it for so long!

However, I am very curious why you didn't ask for my permission to do this. I am okay with you doing this if you give me credit, but I want to say it comes off badly that you didn't ask me in advance whether I am okay with you taking the design of my game for your project. I don't think you have bad intentions, but it does come across that way.

To make it clear, I'm okay with you using this as an example if you give me credit by saying that I designed it (under the name "beekie") and by linking to this page. If you cannot link to this page for whatever reason, you can cite the designer as "beekie.itch.io". Otherwise, do not copy my game.

If you would like to copy the designs of any of my other games, or the games of any other designers, please ask first.

Thank you for understanding.

Hello Tess,

Thank you for your reply, and thank you for explaining how you feel about it. I completely understand your point, and in hindsight I should have asked first before building my version around your puzzle idea.

Just to clarify, my project is a different game called Connection. It contains four (very simple) levels that I designed myself, inspired by the core mechanic of your puzzle, and the fifth bonus level is your original Let's All Hold Hands puzzle as a tribute to its creator.

I always include credits in both the source code and the game itself, and I will credit the puzzle design to beekie, with a link to your itch.io page exactly as you requested.

Thank you again for your understanding, and best wishes with your future games.
