I really enjoyed playing through this prototype/tech demo, it's a really clever idea and I think there is a lot of potential for fun puzzles. And i really liked seeing that the same goofiness from OPP is in this game as well. One minor thing I do want to mention is that the design of the map where you select the room to go to felt very similar to Slay the Spire, which kind of put me in a roguelike mindset and it took me a little bit to understand that the room layout wasn't supposed to be randomized.

Also, I don't know how well it would work but I think having the rooms hidden or not knowing what's in them until you go in each one for the first time could be a nice way to add an exploration element to the game.

Yeah; fighting what people ASSUME the game is going to be is going to be an uphill battle, but I’m not sure how else to make the map look.

A valid opinion, but I’m probably keeping clear icons for the events. They don’t mean much until you’ve visited them at least once, and then it becomes very important to remember what means what as you try to map out the solution to the maze.
